In this post, we’ll help you get started as a Neufund investor, give you an overview of the platform and highlight some of the features you’ll be able to interact with.

Introducing the Neufund investing experience

Our user-friendly platform enables investors to access innovative investment opportunities and conduct their transactions in a secure environment. We designed the interface with different investors in mind, including those who are new to blockchain. Our community is unique because it is comprised of investors from different backgrounds, industries and geographies. Some hail from traditional finance, while others are part of the crypto community. And many others are entrepreneurs in a variety of fields. Some are already familiar with blockchain applications, and a few are even ‘power users’ who have been working with web3 interfaces for a while now. But for the vast majority, Neufund represents their first introduction to the world of blockchain ﹣ and we feel obliged to give them as warm of an introduction as possible. We want everyone who interacts with our platform to not only be delighted by the experience, but also to feel comfortable with it. For every aspect of the investing experience, our goal is to explain different features in a clear and concise manner, educate our users where possible, and extend a helping hand when someone gets stuck.

Getting started

So, you want to start investing through Neufund ﹣ great! We’re happy to have you onboard!

To get started, head over to platform.neufund.org. There, you can preview the investment opportunities available on the platform. When you’re ready, click the ‘Get started’ button in the top right of your screen. You can register with an existing blockchain wallet or easily create a new wallet, and no previous knowledge of blockchain is required. For those who are new to blockchain, we’ve added the Light Wallet implementation which allows you to create a wallet in just a few clicks by entering your email address and choosing a password. For those who already have a blockchain wallet, we support both MetaMask and Ledger Nano.

Need some help with the registration process? Check out this blog article walking you through how to register on Neufund!

Once you’ve registered, there are just a few steps you’ll need to complete before you’re on your way to investing. Go to your profile to verify your email address, backup your recovery phrase (for Light Wallet users) and complete our built-in identity verification process. Verifying your identity helps us get to know you better and ensures the safety of your investments. It is designed to enable a fully legal and compliant investment process for both investors and companies on the platform. But don’t worry! The process is simple, intuitive and shouldn’t take more than a few minutes of your time. Once you’ve been verified, you’re ready to start investing!

Your Dashboard

Your Dashboard is your Neufund control center, giving you access to the various areas of the platform all from one view. From the dashboard, you can check your nEUR and ETH wallet balances, see how much Neumark (NEU token) you hold on your wallet and preview available investment opportunities. If you participated in our Initial Capital Building Mechanism (ICBM), you’ll also be able to view your ICBM wallet or migrate your commitment if you’re using a different wallet on the platform.

The dashboard is where you’ll find all the investment opportunities available on the platform. For each offering, we display key information to give you an overview of the investment. Here you’ll find details such as company name, important offering documents, key investment terms, and the status of each offering. You can also sign up for the whitelist if you’d like to participate in a company’s presale. When you’re ready, click anywhere within each widget and you’ll be redirected to its listing page for more details.

The Listing Page

Every offering on the platform has its own listing page. From the listing page, you can view the timeline and analyze the terms of each investment opportunity, conduct important due diligence and of course, invest.

The listing page has been designed from the ground up with the perspective of including the “need to know” information that any private investor would expect to see before deciding to invest. At the top of the page, you’ll find a company overview and select marketing materials (e.g., website, pitch deck, social media channels). Scroll a bit further and you’ll find the company’s legal information and investment terms. Investment terms includes information about the company’s equity (e.g., valuation, existing share amount), equity token sale (e.g., token price, sale duration, accepted currencies) and your rights as an equity token holder (e.g., voting rights, liquidation preference).

Beyond the investment terms, the listing page is your main source for conducting due diligence on the company itself. As you continue down the page, you’ll find details such as a company’s key team members, advisors, existing investors and partners. On the right hand side, you’ll find all documents related to the offer (e.g., Investment Memorandum, Token Holder Agreement) as well as a complete set of marketing materials. Most importantly, you’ll get to dig into the company’s pitch! What’s the company’s story and mission? How does the company plan to allocate the capital it raises? How are they different from the competition? Here, you’ll get the answers you need.

Your Portfolio

Your Portfolio is where you can manage your investments, review their corresponding legal agreements and claim the proceeds you are entitled to as a NEU token holder.

At the top of the page, you’ll find the ‘My Proceeds’ section, which allows you to claim proceeds (both in nEUR and ETH) that are distributed to you as a NEU holder after each successful ETO. As a refresher, everyone who invests on the platform earns NEU as a reward. The sooner you invest, the more NEU tokens you will earn. You can learn more here.

Below your proceeds, you’ll find your ‘Reserved Assets’. These are assets which you have invested in, but which have not yet been settled. In the ‘My Assets’ section, you’ll see your settled assets, i.e., ETOs you’ve invested in and which are now completed. You can check their value, view the amount of NEU you earned as a reward for each investment, and review their corresponding legal documents at any time.

Your Wallet

Your Wallet is where you can manage the wallet that you’ve connected to Neufund.

From this screen, you’ll be able to view ETH and nEUR balances which you may use to invest in opportunities. Next to your available balances, you’ll find options to manage your wallet, including the ability to add or withdraw funds. You can also view your wallet address and check your ETH transaction history in etherscan.io.

If you’re an ICBM investor, you’ll also be able to view your ICBM wallet and ‘enable’ it so that you may use those funds to invest.

Your Profile

Last but not least, let’s introduce you to your Profile! Your Profile is the place where you can manage your personal information, complete required steps like email and identity verification and migrate your ICBM commitment (if applicable).

Your Profile is laid out in a format that makes it easy to digest, separating each activity by its own widget. Required steps like email and identity verification can be found at the top of the page. Once you’ve completed each step, a green check mark will appear next to each box to indicate this.

On the bottom half of the page, you’ll see your wallet address and be able to check your ETH transaction history just like on the Wallet page. If you’re an ICBM investor, you can check your ETH and NEU balances and begin the migration the process. Lastly, you’ll find important account details like your name and home address, which you provided during identity verification, and submit a ticket to request a change in case something looks incorrect.
